Dr. Roy Bar-Kahan, Attorney, is a partner at the Bar-Kahan, Zigenlaub & Co. law firm, which is engaged in the field of civil-commercial law and provides services to customers in Israel and abroad
He holds a doctorate from Tel Aviv University (J.S.D., 2005), a master’s degree in Commercial Law from Tel Aviv
University (LL. M., 1996) and a bachelor’s degree from Tel Aviv University (LL. B., 1992), and has been a member of the Israel Bar Association since 1994.
In both his legal practice and in the world of academy, Attorney Bar-Kahan is engaged in commercial law, banking laws, contract laws, companies laws and labor laws, with a unique specialization in guarantee laws. His books, Laws for the Protection of the Guarantor (1998) and Guaranty (2006) are the result of outstanding research and are quoted at courts of all instances.
Dr. Bar-Kahan lectures regularly at Israel’s leading academic and economic forums, including the Faculty of Law at the Tel-Aviv University (course on the subject of guarantee), the Faculty of Law at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya (course on the subject of Banking and Liens) the Faculty of Law at the College of Management (courses on the subject of guarantee and agency) and at the Institute of Advanced Studies for Lawyers (courses on the subjects of banking and execution). During the past 15 years Dr. Bar-Kahan has taught at Tel Aviv University (a course on the subject of Business Law at the Faculty of Business Administration and a course on the subject of Legal Systems at the Faculty of Law), and has lectured in cooperation with the Institute of Advanced Studies for Judges, the Institute of Advanced Studies for Lawyers and Legal Advisors at the Ministry of Justice, the Center for Commercial Law at Bar Ilan University, the Supervision of Banks, the Central Legal Consulting Division at Bank Hapoalim and the various district committees of the Israel Bar Association in Jerusalem, Nazareth, Haifa and Beer-sheva.
Concurrently, over the past decade Dr. Bar-Kahan has published articles on the subjects of guarantees and banking in legal periodicals and in the economic press, which are also widely quoted in the caselaw.
Dr. Bar-Kahan was born in Israel in 1969. He is married to Ronit and the father of three: Raz, Shir and Lihi.
